NYPD eyes attainable hate crime towards Rapinoe

New York Metropolis police say they’re investigating a attainable hate crime directed towards Megan Rapinoe after posters that includes the U.S. soccer star have been defaced with derogatory slurs.

Police mentioned the vandalism, which was found contained in the Bryant Park subway station in midtown Manhattan on Monday, was being investigated by the New York Police Division’s Hate Crime Activity Drive.

The posters have since been scrubbed clear. Rapinoe, who’s homosexual, has been an outspoken advocate for gender fairness and LGBTQ inclusion.

The U.S. girls’s nationwide crew was honored with a ticker tape parade Wednesday up New York Metropolis’s Canyon of Heroes for profitable the World Cup.

After the parade, Rapinoe urged Individuals to “love extra” and “hate much less.”
